With/Draw

with Rebecca Keller

Creating new topographies, with/draw invites the audience to respond to the undulating surfaces of objects freshly dipped in plaster.  These “harvested objects” — items that would otherwise be thrown away — allow audiences to play with surface form and decoration, masking any original functionality. Devoid of the pressure to represent meaning through words or images people readily join in by taking up object and pencil, tracing and inventing contours. The plaster and pencil create playful potential.
